Acne is something that is very embarrassing. It brings your confidence level down which can hinder your interaction with other people on a social level. There are literally hundreds of products and procedures that you can do to alleviate this problem. While these options are abundant and readily available through a dermatologist or off the shelf from a store, there are effective acne remedies to do at home. You will be pleasantly surprised to know that a lot of these items can be found right in your very kitchen or bathroom. So let’s look at these inexpensive acne treatments at home.
A lot of people who suffer from acne usually have an oily face, due to the overproduction of sebum which causes breakouts. Make sure to wash your face thoroughly with water but not too hard as it can cause the skin to become even oilier. Exfoliation is key, so make sure that you give your face a good face scrub by using the following ingredients:
½ half of a lemon
1 tablespoon of honey
½ cup of sugar (brown or white acceptable)

Add sugar in the mixing bowl then slowly add the other ingredients. It should be a grainy consistency. Apply to face in a circular motion and try to avoid the delicate eye area. Do this for one to two minutes then rinse gently with warm water.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Another remedy that works pretty well is apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is highly effective in getting rid of bacteria and helps to restore the ph balance of your skin. First, wash your skin clean with room temperature water then dip a cotton ball into a small container of apple cider vinegar and apply it to the blemish. Leave it on for about ten minutes then wash off. You can do this several times throughout the day, just remember to use a moisturizer when done.
Aspirin
Another effective acne remedy is Aspirin. An aspirin works wonders for the reduction of acne. Take one aspirin and put it in a tiny container. (I use a bottle cover) and add a little bit of water at a time. You want the consistency to be a paste that can be applied without being too runny.
Take your finger and apply the aspirin mix directly to the acne until it is dried. Then wash it off. You will notice that the blemish will greatly reduce in size. The mixture will get dry again so you can add more water and another aspirin if needed.
Lemon Juice

Lemon juice has many medicinal qualities and curing acne is no exception. You utilize lemon by first rinsing the face with water then gently drying it. You can squeeze the lemon into a bowl and dip a cotton ball in it and simply apply it all over your face or you can apply one-half of lemon directly over your face. If you find this too stingy you can add a little honey or yogurt to combat the burn. Lemons contain vitamin C that is a natural exfoliator. It also helps to clear up blackheads as it is a natural skin brightener. You can leave it on your face for at least fifteen minutes then wash off with water and apply a moisturizer when done if going outside in the sun.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree oil can be applied directly to acne for acne treatment. It contains anti-properties that help disinfect the skin’s fight against acne. It can be applied directly to clean skin directly on the blemish and can be left on for several hours.
Other ways in helping your fight against acne are not to squeeze a pimple as it can make it increase in size. Wear makeup that is oil-free and never sleep in it. Always remember to wash your face every night before you go to bed.
An acne-free face is possible through simple items already in your home that you can use safely and effectively, putting your best face forward.
